Her Dream

Her Dream

She is scurrying along
the wide corridor of the mall
looking straight ahead when
she turns her head a little
on the left, her legs
suddenly lumbers
She catches sight of
series of books on display
She paused, moves forward, and
place her hands on
the mirror of the bookstore
She stands there with
tears on her eyes and
whispered,
“I just want to write.
That is my dream.”

Friend

Friend

Found a loose haven to be
raw and utterly honest where
I feel understood with the rolling of my
emotions and richness of thoughts
Not to be judged, but to understand in the arms of my
dearest notebook as listener and books as my kindred spirit

Day Three of Writing: Intro to Poetry
Word prompt is Friend
Today’s poetic form or device is acrostic
I Read a Book

I Read a Book

I read a book
And then I get hooked
Pages after pages
I can read for ages
With every leaf of story
Leads me to another journey
I cried, I laugh, I travelled
I fly, I fight, and marveled
I lived someone’s life
Plunges me deeper into life
My eyes chew the words
And my heart digested the wisdom it holds
I can now see the world
Of how it is mold
Through other’s eyes
Shaking the dust off my blinded sights
Provided me with wonderful insights
I realized I am not alone
Living in the sea of drove
I share the same thoughts with my fellow man
I can now better understand other human
Naked and honest as someone can be
I see beauty, we should embrace this, for we ought to be
Several lives I lived
Enriches my one life to live
